Lately

December 29, 2018

Gospel Gazette OnlineLately, Martha and I have been in Florida, as noted in our most recent post. Sunday, December 13, it was my privilege to teach the a.m. Bible class in the auditorium for the Wildwood Church of Christ. Recently, I started compiling for a future book many of the questions and answers published over the last 20 years in Gospel Gazette Online. Consequently, I have been using some of those questions and answers for classes I teach and for sermons. This time, I discussed with the class “Can a Wife and Mother Work Outside the Home and Be Pleasing to God?” and “Can a Christian Sin and Be Lost?”

Martha and I have also worked on Gospel Gazette Online and The Voice of Truth International. Both magazines require considerable preparation time to keep the monthly and quarterly on track. Coworkers and we are delighted to have such an opportunity to edify and evangelize souls across the globe through these journals. Other activities, as well as spending time with some of Martha’s family for Christmas, have occupied our time.

Just today, I published to the Internet the first issue of Gospel Gazette Online for 2019. This is the result of several named and unnamed Christians who labor loyally without earthly compensation to bring this about. I remain thankful to each of them and to our readers worldwide, too. Be sure to make time for spiritual reading and study even during the hurried holidays. Visit Gospel Gazette Online at www.GospelGazette.com.

DeFuniak Springs, Florida

December 5, 2018

This past Sunday, Martha and I visited two congregations in the vicinity of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. In the morning, we worshipped with the Liberty Church of Christ, and that evening, we assembled with the College Avenue Church of Christ. Both churches received us very well, and I was privileged to speak for each of them. We were greatly encouraged.

After evening worship, Martha and I enjoyed a carriage ride around the lake in the heart of town. The shore, surrounding homes and even in the lake itself were decorated with Christmas lights. The weather was just about perfect, and Martha and I enjoyed it all as well as one another’s companionship.
